About

Same Day Crowns

Crowns are most often used for teeth that are broken, worn, or partially destroyed by tooth decay.

Crowns are a cosmetic restoration used to strengthen a tooth or improve its shape. They are “cemented onto an existing tooth and fully cover the portion of your tooth above the gum line. In effect, the crown becomes your tooth’s new outer surface. Crowns can be made of porcelain, metal, or both. Porcelain  crowns are most often preferred because they mimic the translucency of natural teeth and are very strong.

Crowns or inlays (partial crowns) are needed when there is insufficient tooth strength remaining to hold a filling. Unlike fillings which apply the restorative material directly into your mouth, a crown is fabricated away from your mouth. Your crown is created in a lab from your unique tooth impression which allows a dental laboratory technician to examine all aspects of your bite and jaw movements. Your crown is then sculpted just for you so that your bite and jaw movements function normally once the crown is placed.

High Quality Porcelain Crowns

High quality porcelain crowns offer many benefits for patients who need to restore damaged or decayed teeth.

  • Porcelain is a highly durable and natural-looking material that closely mimics the appearance and function of natural teeth.
  • Dental crowns made from porcelain typically last longer than other materials, and they do not discolor or degrade over time.
  • The use of computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology allows for precise customization of the crown to fit the unique specifications of the patient’s mouth, resulting in a comfortable and secure fit.
  • Porcelain is biocompatible, meaning it is safe to use in the mouth and will not cause harm to the surrounding tissues.

Overall, choosing high quality porcelain crowns can help improve the appearance, functionality, and health of damaged or decayed teeth.
